Michelle & Chad's Wedding (September 2010)
On September 17th 2010 we had our wedding at Bridges in Thornbury ON. We were married outside in front of the pond between the willow trees – it was amazing! After the service we offered light cheese/veggie selection to our guest with cocktails, and then we had a buffet style barbeque dinner outside under a beautiful tent with twinkle lights – the setting could not have been more perfect!! Meredith and the all staff at Bridges could not have done a better job. Meredith was a true godsend – like your own personal wedding coordinator she made sure things were thought of from making sure boutonnières were on the gentlemen while girls got ready in the bridal suite, to the end of the night and all the center pieces were gathered. There was not one detail over looked! Knowing she was overseeing things, as the bride I was not stressed at all!!
Our guests have not stopped talking about the excellent food, atmosphere and overall fabulous wedding it was – they have said the best wedding they have ever attended! Chad and I can not thank Meredith and all the staff enough for making our day absolutely unforgettable and everything we envisioned and dreamed of!!
Meredith, and staff, again thank you so so much for all your hard work and care taken into our day (as well as through the night J)…it will never be forgotten!!

Jason and I want to thank you and the staff at Bridges Tavern, especially Derek (aka Turtle) and Dave for helping put together the most amazing wedding we could have asked for. The support we received from you guys leading up to the big day was more than we could have ever expected! The staff were so much fun, the food was incredible! Our guests left saying that "being at our wedding was like being at the best bar they’ve ever been to", and we have to agree with them. We walk away from this past year of planning not only feeling successful in throwing one of the best "parties" but feeling as though we’ve made some great friends along the way. Thank you so, so much!

Thornbury - GO TO TOWN ... For a mini-Muskoka in the making
Thornbury is a jewel box of a vacation town that’s starting to give Muskoka a run for its money. The main drag is bustling with three interior design studios, a diamond boutique, a specialty coffee shop, a book store, a martini bar and a country-and-western-singing butcher. The real estate boomlet has much to do with an influx of vacationers drawn by the newly enhanced Blue Mountain resort—a 15-minute drive east—and to the recently opened Raven golf course, home of the Ford Wayne Gretzky Classic charity tournament, a five-minute drive west. Apple growing is the main industry here. Goldsmith’s Orchard, on Highway 26, is where local celebrities—Cowboy Junkie Margo Timmins and talking head Peter Mansbridge, among others—come for their baskets of Spys and Macintoshes and homemade pies.

We are repeat diners and we have always had a great experience.
We also were married in the space behind the building on the edge of the Pond, in 2007. Lots of space for putting up tents ... We had 130 guests and there would be room for more. Meredith arranged all the requirements. We had three meal choices for the guests to choose and the staff managed it flawlessly. We even had breakfast there the next morning for our friends and family and again it was just great. Our friends still talk about it as one of the great weddings they have been to ... relaxed atmosphere and great service.
There are rooms upstairs that can be used by the wedding party for pre-wedding preparation.
Since the renovations of 2008, the space, indoors and out, is even better.
A great place to go at any time and for any event.
